24:39 for Richard Medina. That's a pretty fast time for that course, and it's unlikely he was pushed the second half of the race given 25:00 for second place.

What happened to Air Force? I expected their guys to run quite a bit better.

Medina was behind Wacker until just before the 4 mile mark

I think Air Force sent part of the team to Notre Dame as well.

Probably just to be cautious, no need to race in uni until he travels in case something bizarre happens between now and conference. Pretty hot conditions, not conducive to fast times. Richard ran a great race.

Yeah, it was warm. Former Dartmouth runner Glenn Randall took it out for about the first kilometer, but by the 1.4-mile mark Wacker had built maybe a 40m lead on Medina. That had shrunk to about 10m by the time they hit the "cross piece" of the figure-8 at the bottom of the second climb of Jawbone Hill. I'd guess that Medina ran close to 4:35 from the 4-mile mark to the finish.

On the women's side, Kipp looked spectacular and ran away from everyone at the gun.

Keep in mind that the men held out Bosshard and the women rested Coburn.

Anyone have information on the status of Mrs. McLaughlin? I can make cynical ignorant assumptions about her weight and broken leg status, but was wondering if anyone actually knows anything concrete.

Nothing about her specifically, but I ran into Emma Coburn's mother during the race and she more or less said that everyone who wasn't 100%, because of zealous base training or rebuilding after a World Champs trip or whatever, was not competing.

Someone posted that she's been lacing up. Since she sat today, in order of liklihood she's either sitting; debuting at prenats (or later); or sitting unless she'd be necessary for a team title if that's even possible this season.

Denver. Throwing mostly though.

I talked to Allie at the shoot out. You should see how warm and friendly she is. After her running is over I think she'll do really well in whatever career she chooses.

Anyway she has been struggling with a miriad of injuries,(soft tissue , hip ect) She is training, but I get the sense she is still running with some discomfort which is a concerning as she did sit out the 2011 outdoor track season, so you wonder if its something chronic.

Her plans plans are to run later this season like pre nats or pac 12

No one has mentioned this but Richard Medina's time was #4 all time on the course, right behind none other tham Adam Goucher. He really outdid himself. At the end he was flying. I was amazed at how smooth he was along with his terrific finishing foot speed. This could be a huge breakout year for him. Yeah, I pointed out 24:39 was a fast time but didn't know where it was on the all time list. Given the warm temps it's even more impressive. I know the winning time is usually 24:50-25:00, and having run on the course, anything under 25 minutes is pretty damn fast. Hopefully Medina can maintain fitness and health. If he does he could have a shot at top 5 at NCAAs.

He gained 10 seconds on Wacker in the last 1230 meters, which he covered in 3:27 -- 4:30 mile pace. The final kilometer of the course is downhill, but not markedly so.

Funky Cold Medina!

Best place at Nationals thus far has been 57th. Redshirted last year. Seems like a major breakthrough year for him. Another Wetmore success story.
