Mr. Jenny Simpson, I presume? Good for him that he is faster than his champion wife.

Just like any other sport, fans are allowed to like and dislike whom ever they please. I can't think of any sport out there where everyone cheers on everyone and there's no hate, everyone wants everyone else to win, everyone gets a medal, and there's rainbows and unicorns flying around.
This is a sport, and I enjoy it just like other sports I am a fan of. I will always root against the Cowboys. I will always root against the Penguins. I do not want everyone to win at all times.

You can't read the times because they are cleverly covered up by an ad.
That happens in Firefox for me but not IE or Chrome. If you widen the page (not sure what your display size is), the ads move off the times.
Who is Jeff See of Columbus, Ohio? Has he potential?

This should replace the retarded "where your dreams become reality" tag line.

Being a "top 5 performer at our US championships year in and year out" isn't all you make it out to be seeing as Leer, more or less, has to peak for that, STILL doesn't make the WC/Oly teams, and then goes on to do nothing of note for the actual racing season.
A quick glance at his IAAF Bio shows modest (for a professional, for all you "you can't run those times" fanboys) PRs of 3:36 and 7:49. Hell his only Honors listing is getting 4th in a heat at World Indoors from 2010.
Perhaps one day he won't have to blow his load at USAs and still not get on the teams, but until then, wannabe status
yeah why the hell would anyone try and peak for a championship race?
Despite the efforts of you & the brothers Johnson to denigrate her accomplishments, Jenny Simpson is still 1500m world champion AND best in the world

Winning the 5th Ave mile in late September means nothing.
Uceny is still the best in the world this year. Jenny, though, had a great year.

a) It's in late June, whereas any meet of consequence is happening in Late July/August
b) It's never going to produce a fast time (being a championship)
c) It's not Worlds or the Olympics (which are more important)
d) Being at your best for USAs makes being at your best for faster/more important races significatly harder/damn near impossible (yay for only focusing on being domestic competition! "I'm top 5 in the US year after year!.. Too bad I get crushed internationally year after year")
You can mix and match any of the above, but they're all applicable

How can anyone hate Will Leer?
Nick is simply overtrained. same with maggie. its been long seasons for both of them
photo finish was used for the pro races (likely all races) so def sally. impressive for her.
At the time of the original 5th ave mile road miles became very popular. There were road miles all over the world televised by ABC. I remember Rio, Rome, London, Paris...
It was great. The IAAF thought it would take away from track's popularity and made some stupid rules like times had to be to the full second. They were generally discouraged by the IAAF which was stupid. They can help to popularize the sport.
Are you going to tell us Wariner could easily set a US record in the 800?

How does Nick struggle in the 1500/mile yet? He's a 1:43 guy.
Jeff See will make our Olympic team this year in 1500.
He won the Decanation meet last weekend, a team USA event.

yeah, the diamond league final (arguably more competitive than any championship final) isn't important to win. its more important to save yourself for morocco or 5th avenue (a fun run).
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

He might have here here as well as the mile though:

Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
