WTF happened Uceny??
Jenny can race .
Leer should have run in the non pro race , he is a wanabe pro...
Lagat at 3:50.5 and age 36. Sure gives me hope that I can manage a sub 17 5k by time I'm 40.
Kipyego was 2nd, England was 3rd
Congratulations Jenny B. You've proved why you're world champion once again. You don't have to win every race, just the important ones because when all is said and done the others don't matter. It's not who wins most - it's who wins best! So happy for you!

How does Nick struggle in the 1500/mile yet? He's a 1:43 guy.
As it says in the article linked on the front page:
For his part, Symmonds has run strong miles before, including a 1500m PR of 3:38.18 at Occidental in May, but points out that those times have come off base training when he is at the peak of his strength. At this time of year, he said the mile "might as well be a marathon."
Morgan Uceny Emphatically Shows She's The Best In The World.
We said it in July after and we'll say it again in September.
Let there be no doubt, "Morgan Uceny is the best 1,500 meter runner in the world." Let us repeat, "Morgan Uceny is the best 1,500 meter runner in the world."

Well Jenny proved you wrong.
Congratulations, Jenny!

Looks like Nick and Maggie were in it for a free weekend in NYC. Much less expensive that way.

Are you kidding? Leer is consistently a top 5 performer at our US championships year in and year out.

I agree with you 100% yet I cannot help but state the following fact and make an obnoxious point: The 5th Ave Mile is not a 1500.
That results link didn't seem to work.
We have them up here now:
Winning the 5th Ave mile in late September means nothing.
Uceny is still the best in the world this year. Jenny, though, had a great year.
You can't read the times because they are cleverly covered up by an ad.

Yeah, basically a cash/promotion grab for all involved. NYRR get publicity, runners get $. No significance otherwise.
I'm sure the video angle may have been misleading, but it sure looked like England finished ahead of Kipyego, and they gave Kipyego 2nd and England 3rd

Being a "top 5 performer at our US championships year in and year out" isn't all you make it out to be seeing as Leer, more or less, has to peak for that, STILL doesn't make the WC/Oly teams, and then goes on to do nothing of note for the actual racing season.
A quick glance at his IAAF Bio shows modest (for a professional, for all you "you can't run those times" fanboys) PRs of 3:36 and 7:49. Hell his only Honors listing is getting 4th in a heat at World Indoors from 2010.
Perhaps one day he won't have to blow his load at USAs and still not get on the teams, but until then, wannabe status
