F Garmin, is there anyway someone can attach a calibrated wheel to the back of a running shoe using and old spur attachment from cowboy boots??

People who wear GPS on races should stick to Runner´s world, because that´s were they belong.
Where do I belong if I wear a garmin AND headphones AND finish near the front of every race?

In hell.
I set my Garmin to beep every 1/2 Km to annoy everyone.

I had an interesting conversation with an old race official last night who was now a volunteered this year and he advised me that there was something suspect with the course in two specific places. The first place was between miles 1 & 2 and the second was near mile 8. He then followed it up with the quote of "I really wouldn't be surprised if we found out in a week or two that it's 2 or 3 tenths short".
I'm looking forward to seeing what exactly comes out...
As noted above, would love to see some mile by mile splits from people who did this race to see if the premise Salboza notes is plausible. So far no one has posted any wonky single mile splits, just the overall feeling it was short.

Yes, but you have to race walk to keep your feet low enough for it to work.

I don't know if this was you, but there was a guy I was running near early in the race who's garmin kept beeping and it was very annoying. We would be no where near a mile mark and I would look down at my watch wondering what the hell kind of split they were getting. Anyway I ended up smoking said annoying guy and I did not finish "near the front" of this race.
For all those with garmins, drop it. They are so inaccurate with any course that has turns. My friend had one this summer and we ran a road loop we know is accurate and it was always way off unless the mile was completely straight. It would regularly tell us 8-9 minutes a mile when we're guys who train 6:30-7minute pace. This is a certified course and there is no way it was that far off. If someone told me it was 13.05 or 13.15 I might believe that. But 12.8 or 13.4??? No freaking way, there is no way it is that far off. There is no way I misjudged what type of shape I'm in by MINUTES. The course was definitely not short. I also was slower than my goal by a bit which is what my 10k PR converts to.
Just to kill the argument about there being a wrong turn or something and since no one else has, I'll share my splits. Looking at them you might think that there is something weird the first 2 miles, but no, I really did run that stupid. I went out way too hard at the back of a fast group and then backed off way too much to compensate before I was caught by a chase pack and just stuck with them.
My Splits:
1- 5:07
2- 5:25
3- 5:13
4- 5:15
5- 5:13
6- 5:18
7- 5:14
8- 5:18
9- 5:16
10- 5:12
11- 5:13
12- 5:14
13- 5:16
.1- 32
OK, not one to pretend the worst doesn't exist, I just spent an hour with Sporttracks, editing the crazy satellite datapoints from downtown and any wayward ones on the rest of the course. The result? 13.28
I think this whole thread was a troll attempt to make everyone question their race. Nasty stuff.
