Sorry if this has been brought up already but I ran today and my garmin showed just over 12.8, did anyone else experience this?

Garmins had crappy signals throughout. Mine read 13.43, and 2:15 for the first 2 miles.
I was actually just coming here to post the same thing. I didn't wear a gps today but I felt my time was almost 3 minutes faster than I expected.
Yes, mine read 12.82. Thought my time was a little faster. Damn.
Why the F would you wear a Garmin at a race? Makes no damn sense.
My internal computer read 12.348999, so yeah I think you're right. The question is how short?
This would probably explain my 2 minute pr :(
I feel ripped off to spend all that money and get "shorted"
It's a certified course, isn't it? That means someone already measured it. You people with your Garmins whining after every race are really annoying.
Most the time Garmins read a little longer too since it is very hard to run the exact route point to point.

If you're right, we just saw the #4 and 5 fastest performances EVER. Even beating out a guy named Haile Gebrselassie with no rabbits. Stupid RnR not getting in right.. waste of money
13.09 on my garmin.
Some sharp turns in the course so perhaps garmin is not the most reliable method here.

My coach felt it was about 90-100 seconds fast as well
I wore my garmin and it said 13.4 My 2nd mile was 4:15 according to the garmin so I don't think you can trust those in the city.
I trust that the course was right, it felt right for the time I ran.
lolz I ran a 5 minute PR and trained less. It was short

It doesn't mean they ran the course that was certified. All it takes is a cone in the wrong place on race day. Comparing the garmin track with the course certification map would provide a check.

+1 where can I get a refund lol
I ran a PR and so did most of my group. By minutes. Our Garmins had a variety of distances, all under 13 miles.
Is it that difficult to measure a course?

I'm sure it was measured correctly, however as someone mentioned above, the right course isn't always run through 13 miles of the city. I spoke with an old teammate of mine this afternoon and he also ran a "2:34 pr". He said he was in much better shape last year for the same race and ran 3 minutes SLOWER.
Will RnR issue an apology?
I smell a Nike conspiracy. I had a buddy who's friend's sister said she heard "someone" (lets say his initials may be Adam Goucher) felt he could run 12.73 mile in under 1:05. Thus Philly RnR was 12.73 miles.
