good debut for chris barnicle running 1:02. Glad to see him qualify for the trials.
Agree - awesome half marathon debut from Barnicle .... ballsy move going through the 5k in 14:35
I don't see how anyone could possibly think this is a good result. It's a horrible time -- especially for someone with his credentials.
Curtis and Barnicle though ran well, especially Barnicle, who continues his comeback. Perhaps another year he will step up bigtime?

malmo, he needed to qualify for the Olympic trials. He did. That is a good result. Not worth it going out too fast and blowing up and missing it. Look at his splits, he was obviously just going to get the standard. We will see what he can do in January.

I am so genuinely happy for Adam Goucher! Well deserved. I hope he finds the contentment he is after.
I really admire the way he has supported his wife and really been there for her and not resented her success when he was injured.
He and Kara seems so sweet and over the moon for their new baby.
Good luck!
Great even pacing Adam!
Adam hit the 10 mile split in 49:27, which is the exact time he ran the 10 mile split in at the 2008 San Jose RNR Half Marathon:
http://results.active.com/pages/oneResult.jsp?pID=61500872&rsID=70706
The difference this time was an even split. In 2008 he went out too fast and hit the 10km split in 29:32. This year's even pacing had him hitting the 10km split in a more conservative 30:30.
That allowed him to maintain his pace and finish in 1:04:52 and not fade to a 1:05:43 like he did in 2008!
Shoot for a 1:06 half in Houston!
Sub-1:05 with lowered T-levels is fairly impressive. I wonder if he can beat Caster in an 800?

Does anyone know what a Top 10 U.S. Half list looks like, performer wise, not performance?
So far I can find:
Hall: 59.43
Ritz: 60;00
Todd Williams; 60:11
Rupp: 60:30
Meb: 60:25
The All Time List goes to 1:01:29 that I used.
Only 5 Americans ahead of him today!!
1:05 half converts to about a 2:16 marathon and 2:16 is the OG B .
OG Q window started 1 Jan 2011.

he slowed from 10k - 10mile and was barely able to hang on for a qualifier. he's run 1:03:17, 1:06:06, 1:05:43, and now 1:04:53. Be lucky to crack top 15 at the trials.
I think there's a lack of objectivity here. Goucher has been consistently injured and just getting back. He got the qualifier off of less-than-ideal training. He met his goal. Let's see if he can get a substantial base in now before the OT.

Where's Rupp?
NM, I see you have it at the bottom... Why adjust it by a minute though? It may have been a bit fast, but definitely not by 60 seconds.
Also, though, what about Mo Trafeh?
he said in this interview he was hoping to run 63 and PR.

Don't worry, he's still slower than Rupp at every distance.
Calirunner45...your an idiot.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
