All of the steeple talk this season has been about Kipruto and his 7:53 and the failures of Koech at the trials and is quest to make the team.
Very little talk about Kemboi except for his failure to show up to camp. He came into the meet very quietly. Brilliant run.
Oh yes!
I remember reading in the Daily Nation that Kemboi had been AWOL and that no one could trace him.
There were even threats that if he didnt' show up at the camp, he'd be axed. THAT'S AK FOR YOU. USELESS!
The guy resurfaced and said that he had been training in Machakos and that no one (perhaps save for his family) knew where he was. He wanted to train in a warm place and the man delivered.
That final 150 meter sprint was out of this world. It is a SURGE WITHIN A SURGE. The Ugandan (Araptany) made his surge (and gave it his all) and Kemboi surged with him, then, he sputtered like a bat from hell. The way he ignited just made me jump-literally! It was early in the morning but i couldh't help but shout and pump my arms for the SON OF YANO.
Yes, and the guy eased with fourty metres to go and ran wide all the way to lane seven from where he finished his incredible race!
Great stuff Kemboi! We are with it!
Kipruto is still shocked!
