Jelan ran the last 300m like he was a 400m runner. That was unreal.

RUPP SUCKS BALLS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
No, you suck big time. Rupp did us proud.
farah kicked too soon, should have waited another 100 meters
We can complain about the coverage, but not about the drama of the finish. Last 200m between Farah and Jeilan was epic, great announcing too on Eurosport.
BTW if you've never heard of Ibrahim Jeilan until now, you really don't follow the sport very closely. He maybe listed as 22 but he's been running world-class times for at least four years.
Quick thought #1: Man that was so exciting. I can't believe despite all the crap i had to watch, that was really exciting adn it made it worth getting up so early.
Quick thought #2: When farah went with 600 and head the least at 400, I was thinking to myself, "Man this is refreshing to see Farah up front and to see someone go early instead of waiting til the last possible moment."
Then with about 220 to go, I started to think "Well that's why no one goes early. That ethiopian has a target to run after."
Right after the race ended the Eurosport announcer got it spot on.
In the end you have to reflect, "Did he go to soon?"
Then another announcer or maybe the same one said, "KENENISA IS GONE. THE KING IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE KING."
They then had a cool interview with Bekele. Amazing, a television guy who realized that an African distance runner can speak English.
Bekele said he's been injured and didn't rule out the 5000.
world junior champ 06 (10k) and 08 (XC); now running in japan.
universal commentator declared farah the winner at the top of the straightaway w/ 300m to go... have these guys ever even watched a distance race?
4:05, time for bed...
From Letsthrow.com:
"I'm irate. I've missed 5 throws in the the third round of the discus as they showed some stupid distance race with a bunch of black guys running around."
So, is this the passing of the torch to another 22-year-old Ethiopian?
the Eurosport guys have been dishing dirt - they say it's been going around that Bekele has / has had a calf injury, and that he's been "looking for" a race for the past month, but wasn't able to find one - didn't say what his criteria for the race were.
also did anyone catch during the last 1000m they mentioned that they'd "heard that Farah has been really, really nervous" going into this race? I wonder who leaks this sort of thing, someone in the GB team?
It's ridiculous to say Farah went to soon, just as the the second British announcer pointed out. How much faster than 52 do you think Farah was going to run if he had waited? He simple got beat by a better kicker. If anything, he should have gone sooner, maybe 2k sooner.
I hope not, I hope Bekele and leave the track in style next year with a win

Jeilen wins. Farah second. Merga third. Rupp falls back to 7th. Can't kick out fast pace. Teg right there with him.

Yes, I think that Steve Ovett has watched a few races. Run a few, too.
Agree that "too soon" is not necessarily correct. He got outkicked. Ppl like to say "too soon" as if they can identify the exact right moment, except in hindsight, by seeing which athlete proved to be faster. Farah got beat but it was not at all obvious his tactics were poor.
