Check out these results from this past weekend's Diva Half Marathon in Vail, CO:
This event was advertised as an event for Divas and the men who love them, however, it is hilarious that only one guy ended up racing.
What's more hilarious is the fact that he starts out the race with his wife and out-kicks her for an extra 5 spots! What's up Chi-Town!
Hilarious! Checking out a race article the race founder states, “We just make it so darn girly that men don’t usually want to sign up," said Pozo. "We’ve got boas and tiaras. When you finish you get a flute of champagne that’s given to you by a hunky firefighter."
Maybe I am missing something, but how do you know it was his wife? Maybe it was his sister. Either way, why do you care?
This is a race that has boa and tiara stations on the course - it is clearly designed for women. It takes some guts to be out there, and I assume this was purely to support his wife (or sister), so it's funny that he takes off and beats her by 30 seconds.
Possible he just was 30 seconds faster over the whole distance?
Ten-year-old Tyler Scholl of Kremmling, Colo., won the the Girls 5k in 17:40. Tabor Scholl, 14, was the first woman and second overall in in 19:19 and Cassandra Cameron, 21, of Denver was third in 19:

It was his sister. He had another sister finish 80th (Denise).

I always get a kick out of people that make assumptions. First of all, we don't know if it was his wife, which would make a difference. I can see being competitive with your sister, but not if it was your wife. Secondly, we don't know if he was in front of her the whole way; why assume he outkicked her. I can see commenting on being the only guy in an all girls race, but the OP was trying to look for other angles to make the story even better without having any idea if what he was saying was true.

It was definitely his sister.
I'd suggest she was pacing him. She ran 1:35:06 in March.

True I made some assumptions with this but the only reason to run this race is for his wife or sister (or in this case both). I think he deserves husband of the year for entering and man of the year for kicking it in.

This man is just a modern day male version of Kathrine Switzer; what courage, he should be applauded. That is what u get when u hold a sexist all womens race, they should be banned outright!!

But apparently men were allowed to enter--it was just designed as such a feminine event that men likely wouldn't be interested. But notice that no one tried to stop him when he was on the course.
if you do a search on athlinks you will quickly notice this is his 1st half. other than that you are a tool for posting this....is he f*cking your mom? sister? dog? i dont really get it. you are soooo manly you beast runner you for posting this. arrrr
So this guy found a way to hang with hundred of fit runner chicks all drinking champagne and partying it up post-race?
