A solid 10 mi run at Shady Rest in my new shoe sponsor @SkechersUSA in the SRR Pro Speed shoe, it definitely helps w/ mid sole strike.
Had my Gen UCAN b4r my run & used my Sony Walkman W series during my run. Time for some PowerBar & Ice bath in the creek now.
I mean, you gotta pay the bills, but this reminds me of that scene in Wayne's World where they're talking about not selling out while decked out in early 90s Reebok stuff and working the label on Pepsi cans into each shot.
I was thinking the exact same thing... it's also why you simply have to look at this business move and just laugh... I'll always support Mebs running, but his credibility for product endorsement is absolute shit.
What is nice is that Meb has opened the doors for sponsorship opportunities for future Olympians with Sketchers. He is an ambassador to the sport and we are lucky to have his positive experience to help Sketchers in the product development. We now have one more company in the business willing to sponsor our athletes.

Check out those shoes. What a joke.

Some of the features of these high quality, technologically groundbreaking shoes include:
"Lace-up front"
"Mesh fabric panels for cooling ventilation"
"Textured and patterned synthetic panels for durability"
"Lightweight synthetic and mesh fabric upper"
"Padded collar and tongue"
"Soft fabric lining with seamless comfort"
"Removable cushioned Sock-Fit insole conforms to the shape of the foot for comfort and support"
"Flexible high mileage rubber outsole"
"Super light weight 10 to 15 oz. per shoe depending on size"
Watch out- Sketchers is pioneering the use of RUBBER and LACES in their shoes and apparently they think that nylon mesh is the sh!t.
I doubt Meb actually runs in these.
“SKECHERS' new performance shoes change the way I run for the better,” said Keflezighi. “I've been a heel strike runner my entire life, but I am now wearing SKECHERS to maximize the efficiency of my foot strike.
The skechers performance look the same as the high heeled soft soled air filled running shoes that are everywhere and not worth anything.

If you're gonna rip on shoe companies that steal ideas, I hope you never buy Nike gear because they ripped off Onitsuka for years.

And Onitsuka began by ripping off adidas.
Because Adidas made thin soled marathon shoes?

Cut that white sole off up to the black, replace the upper with lightweight nylon, and you could possibly have a good running shoe.
According to the front page of their UK website, Sketchers has also signed Kim Kardashian. What a coup!!
Just took my sketcher shape ups out for a 5 mile run this morning, they felt really good. Honestly I like them better then the ghost 3's that i previously ran in. The shape ups gave me the support i needed on those long runs.
I recommend the shape ups to anyone!
SOMEBODY PLEASE GO GET A PAIR AND TRY TO RUN 13:55 IN THEM. YOU WILL BE THE MOST FAMOUS LETSRUNNER IN HISTORY/HERSTORY.
DO IT!

Will Sketchers try to sell in specialty stores?
They're trying to. We've been approached multiple times by Sketchers reps.
Sketchers is becoming a more legitimate shoe company that is close to being on scale with brooks or new balance. It is strange... trust me I know, but with insider information I can honestly tell you guys that Sketcher's image is going to drastically change within the next couple of years and I think an athlete like Meb will help them accomplish this feat.
It's Skechers, not Sketchers. And KK was in a Superbowl ad for them. In February.

And yet despite the introduction of laces and rubber to running shoes, they still come in super light weight, at less than a pound each!
OK, although there is certainly some humor here can you guys really say with a straight face that NB, Nike, Saucony, Adidas are putting out great products? Seriously, there are some sh!tty shoes out there by the mainstream companies and I really don't think the first line of Sketchers will be that far off. Honestly, Nike puts out some of the most horrible shoes imaginable. The prevalence of some injuries such as plantar fasciitis with today's runners is probably a product of the crap shoes we have to choose from. The only thing to fear in wearing a Sketchers shoe is taking some ridiculing by some 120 pound pimple-faced letsrun dbag wearing a Stop Pre shirt.

They make shoes with wheels in them. Not much else needs to be said.
I don't know about you or anyone else but I am very happy with my New Balance minimus roads and am very excited about their new line-up coming out early next year.
Saucony is also putting out some very quality products and is to me, tied with new balance for progressive shoe design.
But I can't take these skecher shoes seriously at all.

The difference is that those companies also make good shoes. Off the top of my head I can think of 2-3 great shoes from each of those companies. Can you name one from Skechers?
I agree. I met a guy from Heromosa Beach, CA near Skechers who finished 2nd in the Born To Run 100K back in May wearing some Skechers prototypes (apparently testing product for them). I saw the shoes... they were sick... bright yellow, super light weight and flexible. Totally unexpected from this brand... blew me away. This may be the shoe Meb will wear, who knows. He showed my the key feature... a slightly curved bottom surface from toe to heel which he claimed made him strike more mid-foot. He loved the shoe... no question about that. They may be onto something here... keep an eye on them.
These have got to be trolls posing as Skechers stealth marketers.
