Unlike the negative losers around here, I see a WHOLE BUNCH of Americans who could come back from Deagu with medals (I don't mean to imply that they're all going to win medals, but I think they have a shot):
Lagat
Manzano
Wheating? (not tough enough, I fear, like Rupp)
Uceny
Jenny Barringer (seems to be getting into contention now)
Alicia (Johnson) Montano (world leader last year)
Alice Schmidt
Maggie Vessey
Which of those people run high mileage?
Not a single one.
You are either a troll or a bona fide moron. The above list is all 800/1500m runners. Gee, ya think those guys aren't going to be doing "high mileage"?
Basically you are just ranting against American distance runners (as opposed to the middle distance crew you mentioned). Your argument is essentially that American distance runners aren't winning anything internationally. Instead they are whiny and running too much mileage. Erego, if American distance runners want to compete internationally, they need to run low mileage... which is about the dumbest thing every posted on LRC.
Well done. Please keep posting and amusing us all.
