HRE I hope you are not so cynical that you feel that is the only motivating principle shoe manufacturers follow. At a bare minimum you should concede that they are smart enough to realize that an injured runner who has to take time off or even quits the sport is of no use to them at all. They may not want to sell you a product that lasts forever, but they have every motivation to get as many people running as many miles as possible.
I certainly respect your perspective and knowledge, so I would ask you a serious question. What would you tell a runner who averages around 40 miles a week, replaces his Kayanos (or any similar top end shoe) every 2 months like clockwork and never has any injury issues?
