i would suggest thinking a bit smaller. go for a 2 or 3 mile run every single time you feel capable, in addition to your longer runs

I have lost faith in you.
I no longer believe that you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far is as needed.
I say as long as the next 16 hours consist of another 24 of each you're still on okay pace. Get 'em!
you need to post something on youtube to take us with you dude. Preferably showing the beer going in and coming out again, then the respect will flow
I have just been drinking the past couple of hours...will be done with 20 beers in a couple of minutes. Then going out for a short 4-5 mile run. I WILL FINISH this challenge. I will keep you updated.
We need standards for these kind of events. Best would be a sanctioned event.
- how fast do you have to run so it counts?
- what alcohol percentage does the beer have?
- how many oz is one beer?
- etc
I appreciate your desire to make sure that these quests are really valid. On the other hand, it is pretty hard to sanction and supervise acts acts of a$$ininity. It kind of stifles the absurdity of the quest.
5 hours and no update? What type of thread are you running here??? If you want the audience we need play by plays along with drunken posts.
1) run [ruhn]
verb, ran, run, run·ning, noun, adjective
–verb (used without object)
to go quickly by moving the legs more rapidly than at a walk and in such a manner that for an instant in each step all or both feet are off the ground.
2) Most people would say 5% abv, but even though PBR is only 4.75%, that is the beer used by the past few pursuers of running/drinking challenges on letsrun.
3) Since PBR is American, and I am American, there is 12oz in one beer. As previously cited, see here for reference

But even the above three "guidelines" overstep the spirit of the challenge, in my opinion. It is also slightly frivolous, as this is a semi-anonymous board. Classical Greeks did not measure measure a certain distance for a stadion; they just raced against the men (sorry ladies) next to them. Pheidippides didn't ask how far he had to run, he just ran to Athens. Legends and myths don't need to be sanctioned. They just need to be pursued with the proper spirit in mind. No matter how self-destructive 100/100/100 is, completing the tricentennial is legendary. If Mr. Brock bows out for reason of not feeling as though he fulfilled the proper spirit of the challenge, then good for him. If this whole thread is in fact true, without some sort of proof, only he and his physical acquaintances will know if he succeeded. True or not, I am rooting for Mr. Brock.
Pheidippides actually ran to Sparta. But otherwise, spot-on.
I am not doing as well as I would like unfortunately. It is almost 3am, meaning I am currently 28 hours into the challenge. I have run 20 miles and have drank 31 beers. I am at the bar right now to drink a few more. I need to get going on the miles tomorrow because I am obviously a bit behind schedule.
I'm going to step shit up tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Yawn.
Heyyyy Tyson Brock I believe you can do it you have 65 beers and 80 miles run in the early am and run in the evening and then drink all night you can do it love atalna
not a chance - give up. This is too big for you.
Instead of sleeping, you should just slogging around the block sipping beverages all night until you're caught up on mileage. That's the only way I see this happening.
the more things change the more they stay the same. Hope that this goes better for you than the 48/48 in 24 some years back.

You can't win a race in the first lap but you can lose it. I would scrap it and start again some other time.
This is a very, very difficult challenge. It will almost definitely come down to chugging beers and running a f*ck ton of miles in the final 10 hours

I plan to run about 12 miles right now, a half mile to the local high school track, 11 miles on the track and a half mile back to the house. This is boring I know but the best way to keep accurate track of my miles.

You don't need to be a genius to do this feat, but if you can't keep track of miles w/out running on a track you certainly are in WAY over your head.
That's dangerous, it's better to pace yourself.
