These are the same criteria that letsrunners use when comparing Geb to Tergat, etc. I don't care if Tergat won the Rift Valley Province 10,000. Actually, that would probably be a tougher race than a 28:38 USATF 10,000. But I digress.
NCAA titles are meaningless to the rest of the world. The Kenyan police championships are tougher. Hell, the Kenyan post office championships are tougher. I wish I was kidding.
USATF titles and the related WC/Oly "appearances" are almost as meaningless. The 5000 and 10000 performances it took to make Daegu are proof of that.
So PRs it is. Solinsky's ahead for now, and I doubt that Rupp is going to go faster in the heat/humidity of Daegu. Maybe he can run some Diamond League 5000s without "falling" this year.
