I had Lagat, Solinsky, and Teg. Curse you, Teg! Stick to the 10000!
YES!
Averaged 4:06 pace the last 3,400 meters.
9:24.97 with 1600 to go so 3:58.01 last 1600m
13:23.06 winning time
Lagat was a bit back with 4 to go so he was 3:57.80 last 1600
Whoever the idiot is that is announcing on the runnerspace.com website needs to just shut up. Can you imagine him calling a Kentucky Derby? or a Nascar auto race? Or a NFL game? Yeah baby, he's got the ball. Let's hear it for Favre!! Bring him home babyyyyy!!!! Well, that's it folks, the Packers win by 17. Great game! Woweeee!!!!
Pathetic.
touche sir
cheeers weej
Thanks for the updates Wejo, wish I was able to see it though.
To my shock, USAT&F and ESPN found a way to screw US distance runners one more time. I am going to say it, whoever you were that made that call your an asshole.
I loved watching the guy come over and tell the cameraman to turn his camera away from the finish line of the 5K when he was trying to cheat a bit :)
so what was Rupps last mile tonight vs his last mile of the 10k? sub 4 is pretty badass!!
so whats better v^3, rupps 1:52 end of slow 10k, or lagat/solinsky sub 4:00 last mile of ok 5k?
Very nice finish by Solinsky.
I now believe he can beat Lagat provided the pace is fast all the way, sub 12:48.
Whoever was in charge of the camera for the last hour of coverage (runnerspace, usatf live stream) should be slapped across the face. Honestly, who needs up to the minute coverage on the official whereabouts of javelin officials? For several minutes he had the camera pointed at the ground..As if the javelin needed further extended coverage; when the event had ended he continued to follow the top 3 finishers around the infield, zooming in on the competitors faces from time to time. What a f***ing moron. Incredibly disappointing, as always.
Wejo >> runnerspace > pile of sh*t >> ESPN.
And I'm not sure that runnerspace > pile of sh*t.
USATF has finally done it. They have messed up so bad that serious change has to occur. Between the guys they didn't let run in the 800 and the absolutely terrible video coverage of the 5k, this meet has been a huge disappointment for serious track fans. I have a friend that ran the time for the 800 and he didn't get to race. I have another friend that raced his ass off in the 5k and I didn't get to see him do it. Both of them have trained for years for this moment. After college they chose the hard path. After years of work they found themselves deserving of the spotlight and both were denied.

Results from USATF page.
Idiots. They should be applauded! Right across the screen it said the 5k would be shown later. Yet camera man snuck in a little guerilla coverage. Bravo

So the fact that you're completely clueless on the matter seems to matter little to you.
Well done.
