Which U.S. runners were "struggling to break 29 min in the 10,000m"? I must have missed the struggling that Rupp and co. were doing for 9000m while half the field was out of lane 1. If our top three were PRing in the high 28s, yeah, they'd be in trouble. But if this race proves anything, it's a lack of depth in the 10, not a lack of top-end talent. My PR is 33:28 and even I understand that.
