Correct me if I'm wrong. But I just looked at the schedule and the 5K is being run Fri night. Just 24 hours after the 10K. Why then is everyone assuming Solinsky is going to run the 10K? Or if he does, that he will give it his full effort?
Conceivably Solinsky is talented enough to make the team in both events. But it sounds like there will be runners interested in making the A standard at 27:40. Solinsky is talented, but even that pace would take a lot out of him and risk his performance in the 5K. And I think his heart is still with the 5K.
Am I missing something here? All this talk about a Rupp-Solinsky match up is simply not going to happen from what I'm seeing.
