It is good for US track. Symmonds will never be good on the international scene. Andrews will be.

You nailed it. I've said before that college guys who get used to siting and kicking at any distance are in for a rude awakening when the face the big boys.

Wheating and Symmonds, the big kickers everyone on letsrun was salivating over last year, got eaten alive in the Diamond League last year.

Andrews is a far less strong runner than Symmonds or Wheating, and if he doesn't learn his lesson at USATF he sure as hell will if he runs any circuit races.

If the PRO's beat andrews, they should be very proud that they beat a college sophmore.

Races like this never live up to the pre-race hype.

My pick is Robinson to beat them both.

hm first of all im pretty sure Wheating had several awesome races in Europe last year. Secondly like the last guy just said the reason Andrews was in the back at ncaas was that that one dude(who obv has a legit shot to make final/qualify) went out in 48.high. Thirdly I like Symmonds as well but unless i missed a race hes been running like crap this year so far.

If you mean that these are not absolutely precise splits then of course you are correct. No numbers that could be put up are absolutely precise.

If you mean they are not pretty damned close (which would seem to be implied by "not true at all") then you are incorrect.

Go back and look at the tape:

At the bell Andrews is roughly 2 seconds behind the leader who officially split 49.85.

Look at the tape. There is no way Andrews is only 1.3 seconds behind Jock at the half way mark. Right around 2 seconds. Check it yourself.

Robbie Andrews will win because he is just better than Symmonds. He is not like the other college guys that are toasted from racing indoors.
