Could you please elaborate if you are there? It doesn't look that bad in the news that I am finding right now, so I am wondering if it is getting worse.

It's pretty bad:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/riot-police-use-tear-gas-after-violence-erupts-in-vancouver/article2062706/White Chimp Savages. It's bad enough when the white trailer park trash steal and rape each other. But when the white police and white fire depts steal liquor and loot homes and stores in Vancouver, Joplin, New Orleans, Los Angeles, New York City, that's really disgusting.
Don't you mean a littoral war zone? The ocean being right there and everything.
Canada is in Afghanistan, moron.
Given President Obama and Congress funds 100% of Israel's facist militants and civilian occupation economy, the US Border Patrol should setup guard towers and shoot to kill the Canadian primitives on sight.
team sports fans and players are servile followers
add booze
It is the fault of Gary Bettman. He dared to go on the ice and incite the masses after the 'nucks lost game 7. I'd never seen a commissioner getting so much hate.
Honky Savages
A literal war zone? People are throwing books at each other?

What do you mean completely unrecognizable - some broken windows and garbage does not make a place unrecognizable.

Oh, nevermind. I had too many Mooseheads during the game and woke up in Banff.
hahahahaha, freakin awesome
You've obviously never been to Vancouver.

Unless you live in Canada, I don't think you can truly understand how deeply ingrained hockey is in our culture; it really is part of our "DNA". I live in Edmonton where the Oilers haven't won the Cup since the 80's, but it's still impossible to get tickets for games here. Even my 90 year old grandma knows the names, numbers and positions of most of the players. As a kid I remember her tears as we watched Gretzky announce that he was leaving for LA.
Watching the game last night at a sports bar in Edmonton was interesting; because Boston is one of the original 6 NHL teams, as well as the fact that most of their players are from Canada, there are many Boston fans who live in Edmonton (and the rest of Canada). I was cheering for Vancouver which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I was very disappointed by the result of the game but hey, the best team won.
But watching the behaviour of the fans in Vancouver is embarrassing and disgusting, not only for Canadians, but for the Canucks hockey team. I don't know why people become such retards in these situations. This is not what Canada is all about. I saw on Facebook this morning that there is a page started to organize a post-riot clean-up in Vancouver; there are already over 11,000 people signed up to help out. THAT is what Canada is about.
Canada is no different than the United States.
i lived in edmonton the 5 years the oilers won [so did the eskimoes] I couldn't care less
that hockey is part of canada is bs like crappy health care is part of canada
most canadains don't care about some puck fags crying cause they didn't win the cup
it's a B sport
A disgraceful display put on by Vancouver fans. I don't recall there being any rioting in Calgary, when we lost game 7 in 2004, or in Edmonton in 2006. Hell, Calgary fans had more to be pissed off about, as officials missed a goal that would have potentially won Calgary the Cup in game 6, but we were just thankful for all that the team had accomplished that season, win or lose.
