Yeah, where the weather in Boise would have been perfect for a track meet today.

....Yet they continue to down Buffalo for the onetime freakish cold weather front in 1998. What would you rather have a cold front or a delayed meet in Iowa once again? Remember what happened in Iowa in 2008? By the way the NCAA Record set by TCU still stands today, 38.04. COME ON BACK TO WESTERN NY!

do ncaas really need more than 2500 seats?
They need to move it to Zurich. No one will have to save themselves.
Perfect. Zurich was a safe harbor for Nazi soldiers. The Swiss still hold $billions of Jew loot they stole.
Sacramento was awesome weather for all events and a great crowd. Problem now is the infield was replaced with field turf for the Sacramento UFL football team and can no longer be used for throws. NCAA won't allow them to host with all the throws out of the stadium.
That's absolutely not true at all. The grounds crew can lay a temp surface over the football field for the throws. Commonly done at soccer and football fields for motocross, super trucks, offroad races, etc.

Why not just put the meet in Eugene every year.
I'm not sure if it had been mentioned yet, but the pollen in Eugene is UNSANE!!!
every city has unexpected weather and conditions. natls have always been moved around the country until nike started bribing ncaa indy, which is ruining ncaa d-1 t&f.
At least they didn't stop during the middle of an event....New Jersey.

1.5 events to go in the decathlon.
I guess they will be a)fresh for the 1500 tomorrow, or b)completely dead for the 1500 tomorrow.
Not sure if it's even legal to put a delay in the middle of a decathlon. It's a 2 day event, back to back days, five events each day... so the NCAA decathlon scores probably won't be considered legal outside this meet.
Also, it could really mess with the performances - with some losing their advantage for Day 2 performances and some gaining. To run the 1500 on several more hours of rest will probably drastically impact the athlete's performances. The deca 1500 isn't a measure of "who can run the best 1500" it's "who can run the best 1500 when they are completely and utterly spent." Big difference.
Sacramento Hughes stadium is a much better track stadium. It has been recently been rebuilt with parking structures. It is a gorgeous facility. The seats taper right down to the finish line for great view.
I've NEVER seen or heard of this being done. I suppose they'll lay down a ring and runway too?
at the meadowlands for monster truck races they lay down a tarp then 3 feet of soil.
in chicago they put in 6 feet of dirt for motocross plus launch tracks and seats next to it.
they can put in a complete iaaf regulation t&f in 3 days and tear it out in 2 days.
for the usa swimming OTs they built in a parking lot, a TEMPORARY stadium with an olympic sized pool, 30,000 seats, night lights, tv facilites, telecomm facilities, concessions, flush toilets. then they tore it down afterwards and the seagulls, pigeons, cats, dogs, and homeless humans came back.
And a shite track, and no fans.
Yes, but isn't Hughes Stadium in Sacramento? The heat is just a killer, and the Sacramento people don't give a crap about track and field--only the money they can rip off of visitors. True is true.

That's why the Ancient Persians invented portable stands.
Indeed, that's what was done when Princeton hosted the Golden Spike meet and every year when they host ICAAAA, of course at the same time that the meet was stopped in Des Moines a line of Thunderstorms went through Princeton, taking down trees etc.

Actually they did, the men's long jump was still going and was a really great competition. It probably won't be completed.
prefontaine classic was a dud last weekend. they only sold 12k tickets. the OTs at sac st had more than the OTs at hayward. hughes stadium is a sell out each time they have the CIF Champs plus sacramento has a large airport and hotel capacity. if you want 100k fans have the champs in the l.a. coliseum like they had for each day for the 1932 olympic games and 1984 olympic games.
Unsafe...insane....I always thought we should make one word out of those.
Thanks!
