wow, guys look at the video at the end the finish
at about 28 or 29 xx (hard to see on the big clock - but it is def. sub 30) there is man finishing who looks like 40 - 50 years old. Pretty amazing for him to go sub 30. Anybody know who that is?

Why is Mosop attempting a 30K wprld record only a few weeks after boston marathon.has he had sufficient rest from boston.Why does he have to do this now.It seems too soon to me.Surely he could have just concentrated on attacking the world record at berlin.
i'm wondering the same thing...seems really soon after boston. Canova knows what he's doing, so we'll see how it goes...

offer better
I think Kemboi probably could have run 12:50 that day, but to assume he had to have been capable of 12:45 is not necessarily true. What were his slits?
no splits & you are offering him 12'50 ???
offer substantially better
merga in the lrc article is heavily favoured
i think that's optimistic
he wins a lot of 5k in 12'53/12'55 with best sprint, which may indicate better speed than rest
i've seen enough of these guys to reckon he has have about 3'32 speed
his best 5k ?
at least 12'50 in tt, maybe a coupla secs quicker down to 12'47.5, but i haven't seen a race where i'd say 12'45
so :
3'32 with
12'50 ->26'53.0
12'49 ->26'49.8
12'48 ->26'46.7
12'47 ->26'43.5
i'll leave him there
i'll eat my hat if he cracks 26'45

In the 30 km the goal for Moses Mosop is to follow a schedule for 29'22" (10 km), 58'49" (20 km) and a final time about 1:28'40" (the WR is 1:29:18).
Sorry, what's the point of running a full minute slower than road 30k WR on the track? The road WR was set by Haile Geb in Berlin as a SPLIT!
Coach Canova are your athletes the ones asking for the faster pace to 5000? Aside from the physical coaching do you need to work on the African's minds to prepare them for a race of this importance?

Yes, but darling, would you eat your calculator?
moron
offer something other tnan drivel
Rain Man v. Renato.
you guess that a guy with a good kick to mid 12:50s must run 3:32, and then you calculate his 10k times based on that 3:32???
Renato do you think Mary Keitany could break 30km world record?
Bump
1 FARAH Mohammed 26:46.57
2 MERGA Imane 26:48.35
3 BETT Josphat Kipkoech 26:48.99
4 TANUI Paul Kipngetich 26:50.63
5 TADESSE Zersenay 26:51.09
6 SIHINE Sileshi 26:52.84
I wonder, if there is any new "vitamine" in track? We haven't seen such times since the "Protease era" 5-7 years ago. Can you share the latest news with us, Renato?
ventolin did not see that coming from Farah!!!
In the past I could not tell if Ventolin's calculations made sense or not but after reading the ones on this thread and seeing the 10000m results, I now see you are full of shit.
I think it is many yrs ago last time they assembled a star studded running in good weather.
Coaches have to test out the new assist before WOrlds.

Ventolin nailed it insofar as Merga. Didn't have the extra gear in the last lap.

What is the most under 27 minutes in one race?
