Met with sports med doc and a good athletic trainer this past week. We suspect that all the tight turns on the flat indoor track may be contributing to my hip/back/leg issues, makes sense since most of this starting once I went indoors due to the cooler weather (problems with my fingers, chemo induced neuropathy, & cold) Began treatment, exercises, & running (some opposite direction runs on the indoor track). This week will be key, treatment everyday, so I hope by the end of the week I'll be able to do strides. It turns out one can get treatment quickly, and everyday, just have to pay out of pocket! Ouch.
Did the balance test, left leg (non-dominant) 31 seconds, right leg (dominant) 4, 4, 16 seconds = 8 average. Right leg is currently the more problematic one. I had been doing single leg squats since March, current problem sure did mess thing up.
Week of 12/10
Mon AM chiropractor, no runs, stretching.
Tue PM sports med doc, 2 + miles clockwise on indoor track, stretching & some exercises, 2 miles clockwise cool down, felt better, some referred pain.
Wed AM athletic trainer, massage, stretching, new exercises.
Thur AM athletic trainer, 4 mile run on treadmill @ 0% grade, felt better, down to 6:34 pace, massage, new exercises.
Fri PM athletic trainer, 5+ mile run outside, felt okay, however, very tired afterwards.
Sat PM no run. Stretching & new exercises.
Sun PM 5 mile clockwise indoors, new exercises plus some old ones, light stretching. Felt better, particularly starting around 2 1/2 miles. Weight down significantly, some other cancer related symptoms, need to schedule a blood draw to make sure nothing happening.
Regarding connectivity, yep, definitely a downside to it. I cancelled cable a few years ago and family, including spouse, couldn't take it!
Regarding Connecticut, I get too angry if I spend much time thinking about it, I don't understand these cowards. So sad for the parents and extended families of the victims.
A better week to all.
