Rtype, thanks for the sentiment, I've been following the thread, just nothing to report. Looks like you're maintaining a good level of fitness.
For me, it's been one thing after another. Strained my back again, bad weather, long work days. One of my strengths, though, is coming up with excuses.
My PSA levels have been elevated for a few years, but before each blood test there were other issues that could have influenced it. So, I haven't followed through with a specialist, despite my primary MD's pleadings. Anyway, before this year's bloodwork, I tried to eliminate other factors, including EXERCISE.
Blood was drawn Friday, so no valid excuse for yesterday, still planning on SOMETHING today. Stationary bike or a few road miles.
Meanwhile, my wife finally saw a knee specialist. She had been diagnosed last year with arthritis, but she questioned the sudden onset of the pain, and the constant inflammation -- right knee is swollen half again as large as the left. Alas, however, no new diagnosis. The MD drained it and gave her a cortisone shot. Minimal improvement.
Speaking of my wife, she started running at about age 30, long before I met her. While cleaning out the attic, and reminiscing about old racing days, I was so impressed with her experiences. Runs with Bill Rogers, another with Grete Waitz, 13-year race director of one of the major local 5Ks, boxes of awards and photos. She misses it. At 65, she had been running quite well last year until the sudden knee problem.
Best wishes to amkelley, hope things improve. Also to racerdb, so smart and patient, oldguyII looks good, ditto mopac, etc, Igy things are lining up for some racing, and best to everyone. Maybe some good reporting from me next week. Be well, all.
