Greetings, fellow 50+ers! I took a step back this week thanks to a 48 hour snow event and the niggles that resulted from (presumably) recent shoveling adventures. But I was still able to get in just over 17 miles of actual running across 3 days.
On Monday’s run my old right hamstring niggle resurfaced in the last mile. I suspect it returned thanks to some recent energetic snow shoveling episodes, or perhaps a bit of a slip on some ice during an earlier run. Either way, it was still there on Wednesday and a bit sorer (albeit intermittent). Conveniently the snow event began around mid-day on Thursday and continued into Saturday allowing for a convenient break from running (but not shoveling). I was back at it (running) today once again with windchills in the teens and a frozen mustache. The hammy is still a bit sore despite the heat and massage I have been giving it, so I slowed down the pace and reduced the daily volume a smidge. Today I also have a bit of a side pain which is almost certainly related to shoveling. The good news is there are no significant weather events forecast for the coming week and I have an appointment for vax dose #1 on Thursday. Life is good!
