Ok. First up. I had been pretty fatigued from night shift and I couldn't muster a planned long ride on Tuesday.
All ok until Friday.
I worked Thursday night shift, home and into bed about 10 am Friday to get a few hours kip before our family weekend away. My youngest daughter would be finishing work at the airport at 11.30 and coming to pick us up 1.30. I wake at 1 and find out my daughter is instead of to get a covid test and into 14 days iso. She is actually a covid tester but does a few shifts at Krispy Kreme at the domestic terminal.
So what happened. A quarantined returned traveller used a nebuliser in his room. This spread the virus into the ventilation. A security staffer got infected. Tested neg end of work week but positive upon return close contacts quickly traced and tested. One is positive. Turns out that person works as a cleaner at the cafe opposite KK and was there the same time as my daughter. Anyway my daughter got tested by one of her colleagues at 4 pm and was notified at 5 am she is neg. She still has to isolate 14 days and will be tested again on the 20th.
Anyway by 1.30 the Premier had announced a snap 5 day lockdown from midnight Friday as they had found 3 or 4 positive cases already and needed to allow track and trace to get their work done. So no weekend away. We were heading off on a longer holiday today Monday but not to be for the moment.
