Good morning all.
Echo lucKY2b’s congratulations to CM, Dardee and best to RB60.
I dropped plans to compete in the Idaho Senior Games track meet after Monday’s speed session. I felt reasonably good on some 20 seconds 100m and 42 second 200m runs, but the enthusiasm spark was missing. I have felt for some time that I peaked late June and early July. So rather than fighting an uphill battle it was time to regroup and rebuild. Besides Monday is my first annual CT scan and oncologist appointment. I expect it to be routine, however in the back of your head there is much angst about the “what if’s.” We all have are challenges, and it is best to tackle them as they come.
On a brighter note my wife and I had our 45th anniversary yesterday. And one of my former athletes is coming into town on Tuesday, and we are planning a run in the foothills. Much to be thankful for. In terms of running the plan is to increase my volume over the coming months, with swimming and weight training on the recovery days. Hopefully that additional base will help me deal with a 5k distance that seems far too long!
