Been off the grid for a couple weeks. After two 32 mile weeks, had to drop to 23, and then all kinds of crud hit me full force. Seems something to do with the first effects of heat and having the AC on heavily and so my body did not like it. Last week was 3 miles run, 16 miles walk. This week has been a couple of hour walks, today including 3 x 1/2 mile runs (very fatiguing and felt uncoordinated). My wife returned for one week, but is back caring for her mom in AZ. I will join her next week as we celebrate anniversary 36 and her birthday of 62.
Only had some skin tags removed for me so far, but have had my share of sunburns as a youth, so get a yearly once over. I feel my big risk is heart disease, given some risks on both sides of the family, esp. my Dad's. My recent bloodwork, that included some very specific studies of inflammatory responses, cholesterol manufacture and absorption, and added lipid work, all proved excellent. My PSA was 0.28 and blood sugar was 97, so I can still have a nightly chocolate chip cookie or two , too.
Wish I could have been in Ames, but timing was not good at all, was getting run down then. Those speedy 65 year old might have lapped me in the 800 anyway!
Good luck on your upcoming marathon amKelley, cannot believe you can run that mileage. Congrats CM on Boilermaker, and amazed at your continued progress Igy.
KP, if anyone knows how to pick yourself up after every knockdown, it's you.
To the rest of you, stay cool, stay peaceful, keep the love! ML
