Rtype thanks for the props I was pretty stoked new training seems to be working. Anyhow the easy stuff really feels healthy.
Kudzu welcome back! interesting workout I might try that down the road.
KP Even Eugene got blasted with SNOW but we escaped the white stuff on the coast.
Igy glad you are feeling like your old self
The rest is just me over analyzing my race It has been a long time since I ran one that turned out good.
19:42 Road 5k Run for the Shamrock hard tempo 3/3 to 3/2 breathing just a bit at 2/2
82.xx age graded percent for road 5k is going in the right direction.
LT Progression 5k:
Jan 1 21:26 track pretty hard even splits all just under 1:44 85 percent mhr
Jan 19 20:46 track pretty hard slowed a bit 3/2 breathing a bit at 2/2
Mar 10 19:42 road 5k Run for the Shamrock about same effort
I cross checked times and the course is legit probably 30 seconds slow vs track.
The winner ran 16:43 a week before he ran 32:43 10000 on the track Linfield Ice Breaker
Last year a dude ran 18:52 a week later ran 18:16 on the track Willy Open Salem
I was shooting for my birth year 1956 running tempo effort 3/2 breathing they called splits at miles 1 and 2
6:11 felt easy but I slowed it down 3/3
12:33 did the math and relaxed a bit 3/2 by then
third mile I kept the effort the same but slowed a bit 2 clover leafs and a bridge with slick cobbles the last half mile so I was happy with my endurance.
I actually ran 4 miles warmup did the course and some striders which for me is really good as my calfs were fine .
Feel good today no aches or pains good energy
Onward!
