Haven't posted in a while. Lower back is finally resolving, as is the residual issues post-sinus infection. Actually felt up to a few hard run efforts, including 4 x 0.4 miles on a straight stretch of road near our house, with the final effort at a blistering 8:00/mile pace and near max HR of 145. That was a day that added up to 6.5 miles, my longest since the 1/2 marathon in October. What a long road back!
A few pages back, someone said that "scientists" defined running as being under 10:00 pace and jogging as anything over. As someone who's run for 42 years now, have my Master's in ExPhys while studying under 4 past American College of Sports Medicine presidents, and been ACSM certified as an Exercise Specialist for 33 years, not once have I heard of such a ridiculous definition of running vs. jogging. Never has been defined that way, but sure seems like what someone would say to demean someone who runs a slower pace.
As to other matters, cannot wait to see the results of the USATF XC women's race, what a LOADED field. Some big names might not even get in the top ten.
Finally, the temps here today in KC will be above zero, so think I'll take a few steps outside again (yesterday was an indoor day for the first time in a couple weeks).
Oh, and sympathies to losses for any cause, but especially when the folks are younger and have tried to straighten their lives out. My own road to a better life has been tied to this wonderful experience of being a runner.
