Haven't posted in a few weeks. Congrats to the runners at the 5k nationals and all the others that raced locally. Never raced a 5K and want to this year.
Socal cush - the dreaded calf nightmare. feel your pain! 10 years ago after only 2 years of running I threw in the towel after my left calf then my right calf… My current running focuses on limiting lower limb stress at the cost of not being the fastest possible for any given race. In the long run, the benefits of consistent training might possibly improved my times. Still not close to your recent PR’s but never felt better.
Had too much time on my hands this week so instead of indulging in unhealthy activities, racked up 13 hours of running and 1 hour of steep incline walking. My interval pace on the treadmills is dipping below 5:00 mp and TH sessions are sub 17 5k efforts. Feeling great but no big races and hoping to maintain the fitness for a few months when the temps dip into the lower 70’s *F.
