John was a great runner and his marks on the track and roads will be remembered and discussed as we mourn his passing. Let me focus on another legacy John left for many of us in the sport he loved.
Here is what John Gilmore taught me....
Those are great lessons. Thanks for sharing. "Live life" is not always easy with all the work and workouts, but I am trying my best. And I need to do more to give back to my community.
Here is my week.
M: swimming 1000m.
T: 4 miles / 7 miles.
W: 2km warm-up, 1200m x 4, 1km cool down / 4 miles.
R: 4 miles / 7 miles.
F: 7 miles.
SA: 7 miles.
SU: 12.2 miles.
Wednesday's track workout went 5:36-5:31-5:31-5:25. The target time was 5:33. (I ignored the watch for the last rep and ran by feel. I ended up running much faster than I had thought.) And I started my tapering for the next race (5k on Saturday) by cutting the "long run" on Sunday. This race will be on a flat course, so I should be able to run faster than the last one if the weather cooperates.
