Thanks for kicking this week's discussion up again LucKY2b--nice job on the XC OGII.
Cut back week of 43 miles this week in prep for the USATF 15K. It was cold (32 at the start) and blustery. The course is fairly hilly. Met my goals for this race and maybe then some. Ran sub 6 minute mile pace, got top 3 in age group, and scored a high overall age grade ranking. So that part could hardly have gone better. Major kudos to the organizers of this race--they really put on a good event. Saw SoCal Cush and had a chance to say hi after I'd crossed the line--he was several minutes up. Weather must have been a shocker to the California kids!
Also, now ranked on that sub 3 marathon list and hope to have a shot at a couple more.
I'm going to throw kudos to Tulsa Run organizers, too. Second year to make the drive from Lincoln, NE with 15 Lincoln Running Company teammates. I, too, would consider the course challenging. I remembered the tough climb in the last 2K from last year but not all of the up and down over the start and middle. It was a bit chilly during awards but nice that they recognize individuals, teams, and age-graded performances. I thought the 60/70 challenge mugs were a nice touch, too (60:00 for guys, 70:00 for women). Have you guys put anything hot in it yet? Kinda cool with the color change. LRC Racing is kind of new to the masters game but we won 40+ team championships for the men and women and 3rd for me and my teammates in 50-59. Trying to get some excitement for Lexington but most of these events are a long way from home for us.
