Very nice racing by Reno, KP & Coyote Montane! You guys are setting the bar high!
I was able to get out of my 7-day funk with a decent week and some workouts. The draggin' ass/fatigue/sore feeling from the previous week seems to be gone.
Based on my workouts, its looking like I'm right about where I want to be. I'll just maintain and try to stay healthy and sharp for the next 11 days. I'm feeling very confidant about hitting the 1000M point in the race just under 3:00. Hitting 3:02 in workouts has been comfortable and not close to 100% effort. Then its just a matter of finishing out the the last 600 :>)
Heres how my 41 mile week went. Both track workouts were done alone on a breezy track.
M: am: 6.02 Miles in 45:41 [7:35 per mile]
T: am: 6.42 Miles in 49:58 [7:46 per mile]
W: 6.1 Miles 400-1000-400-200-200 71.9, 3:02.9, 69.6, 33.2, 32.8
T: am: 4.7 Miles easy
F: am: 7.44 Miles in 56:19 [7:34 per mile]
S: 5 Miles with 10 x 200 avg 34.5
S: 5.29 Miles in 40:54 [7:43 per mile]
This week I'm thinking about the 800-400-200-800-400-200 workout on Wednesday then a fast set of 4x400 on Sunday... the last workout before the race on the 25th.
Have a good week!
Dave
