lucKY, those are some pretty fast commutes!
Thanks for posting up the XC results. Pleased to see a fellow alumnus and local, David Angell, 4th OA. Dude just keeps getting faster. He is peerless around here so there is literally no one that can run with him. That’s pretty hard to do. Looking at the times, that must have been a tough course/and/or tough conditions.
My week:
Mon = 5 miles elliptical, easy
Tue = 3 miles road, hard @ 8:55 pace: 9:02, 8:49, 8:55. Felt awful
Wed = 5 miles elliptical, easy
Thu = 3 miles road, medium hard @8:39 pace: 8:45, 8:50, 8:23. Felt great.
Fri = 5 miles elliptical
Sat = 3 miles track, hard @ 7:54 pace: 7:58, 7:55, 7:50, felt easier than last week
Sun = Rest
Pretty good week with some pretty hard running. It feels really good to press it a bit and come away from a run feeling like you did something good. I’ve missed that. I’m keeping my foot on the gas but not flooring it. I lost the post in our giant maze of a thread, but Allan B mentioned something about cross-training and one tends to drop it once the running is well under way. I’m getting that way about the elliptical. I question whether it’s helping now and, more importantly, whether it’s having a negative impact on the specificity of training to run. In short, I think it might be messin up my runnin muscles.
Have a great week and GO ATLANTA!
