Thanks, Alan.I was wondering about potassium levels and electrolytes and dehydration. But then I looked at the early part of the month and I was increasing my volume and intensity while flying to and from Ottawa and then driving to and from. Sometimes the simple explanation is the right one. And thanks for the condolences.Thursday 9/22 jogged 3 miles on the treadmill fairly comfortably.Sunday 9/25 8 miles progression run feeling good. Miles 5-7 in 8:06; 7:46; 7:25. So I'm building back up again. Will run easy this week and hope to get in 11-12 miler on Sunday. If I can get in that long run and one more workout below half-marathon pace I think I'll be able to manage a decent effort for the Columbus Half. Then I'll try to train properly over the winter for a more solid effort at a spring half, hopefully in Ottawa.AndyB

Travel always does it to my calves, more on the left but often enough on the right. People have a lot of theories like dehydration or electrolytes. I don't think that's it, but I haven't figured out what is it. I just run super easy until the calf feels normal again, at least a few days.
Sorry about your father.
