Hi all,
Sorry I have been out of the loop with a bad cold last week..nothing training wise happening that time..
I missed out posting last week as I was too busy just surviving with the bad virus, trying to keep my head up at work and family stuff. After heading for a regular week of 40 miles and contemplating doing the long 10 mile tempo on the last day of the week, I basically realized that I was sweating profusely from something besides the high heat and humidity, drenched my sheets at night ,fever ,the whole works..sucked big time.. Long story short I just scrapped the week ,yep, 7 days off , weak legs and just was unfortunately needed to get better asap.
The good news is that after 7 days rest, after 4 months of healthy consistent (for me) training , my legs felt like dynamite ! Some loss of conditioning was more than overcompensated by the spring I got back in the legs , This week back on the horse so far looks like :
Sunday: 3 mile jog easy, confirmed got my legs back ,no more weak
feeling from cold
Monday: 3 x 1 mile @ 5:28 , total 5m
Tuesday :7.5m (treadmill to take care of joints while coming back, 6.57 pace
Wednesday: long tempo hard 10 miler ( 10 miles 58:37,first half 29.44/2nd
28:54 ) surprised !... total 12 with warmup
Thursday: 6.5 miles easy
Friday and Saturday : yet to happen but will total a bit over 40 maybe throw
some moderate /relaxed speed (200,300,400 pyramid?)
Still look forward to racing on August 1st/Dartmouth natal Day race 6.07m , was worried with a week off so close but looks like it will be doable if I keep training hard for the next week and a half ..knock on wood.

dave@ : Can totally relate to resorting to the basement treadmill and it's not that bad of an option given 90 degree weather! Good to see your training coming on ..
Hoser@ Again, humidity/heat it's a b&%tch !!
Leave for Canada on 18th of August so will keep the thread posted .
Best of health to all and happy running..
