Week 124
*************************
Greetings, 50+ers, from the road. Glad to see others already kicking off the week, but let me quickly get this in. We traveled up to Wisconsin for an 80th Jubilee Celebration for my Mom (actual b-day is in two weeks.) We've got a lot to do this morning before hitting the road back to Lexington, so this'll be pretty brief.
I only got about 13-14 miles in on 4 days this week. After last Saturday's 7 that left my right hammy all cramping, I ran 5 easy on Sunday, but was feeling pretty tight by Monday, so I figured I'd hold off and run after PT on Tuesday. Well, he upped my regimen again, and I wasn't up for running afterward. Wednesday and Thursday didn't fair much better, as this new PT regimen is pushing me; I only got a couple in each day. Friday was wasted preparing and then traveling, and I ran 4-1/2 on Saturday here in Madison.
This morning I will do my PT and then a short 4-5 mile run with my old coach and buddy, Tom Kaufman, then we'll have brunch at my sister's before hitting the road. It's been a nice, but too quick, visit; seeing friends and family is always something to cherish. And the leaves have been turning, which has made what can often be a long, dull drive (much of Indiana and Illinois are pretty darn flat for those that don't know already) much more enjoyable.
Sorry I didn't have time to go over to the Zimmer XC course where the UW Adidas Invitational was being held. Speaking of races, I know there are several of you racing, so I look forward to some nice reports on those. And, of course, look forward to all of you letting us know where you're at in your training/rehab.
I'll let you know what this week's rehab is when I get more time.
Best wishes, all!
