CEO is greater role than the just involvement , our problem is just what you are stating to be qualified as a candidate. No company in world the size of US track would consider a candidate with your criteria as CEO material.
My opinion would be to grab a very senior person out of one of the shoe companies.
Why ? Direct P & L responsibility , marketing and selling of products in global arena ( this probably has included TV , print and social media , athlete integration , event sponsorship expenditures and ROI ) , building yearly business plans presented to a board for approval , hiring , firing and restructure when needed. Knowing corporate culture and maintaining the culture through a bigger vision that inspires the organization to greater heights.
