I know this has been an arguement before, but the entire NCAA regional method is an absolute joke!!!!!!
What is wrong with the NCAA????????
Let's describe this ugly process. The process sucks.
They have 48 (yes 48!!!) of the top athletic times in each event compete (west and east division) to determine the top athletes in the nation? hahahaha! OK?
Question? What if an athlete with a top time is sick? What if an athlete with a top time trips on the track? or is run over at the start?
Guess what? That athlete doesn't move on. He/she, (although they may have the top time in the nation coming in) doesn't move on!!! You have one chance on that ONE day!
Now how absurd and ridiculous is this process? What is wrong with the NCAA? How irresponsible and incompetent can a system be?
We should all e-mail the NCAA and tell them to get a new system. This one sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like you don't like competition.
Time trial your way to nationals? Or actually line up and compete?
What if you have the top time in the world, but are sick on the day of the Olympic final? Give you the gold any way?
What if you're the #1 ranked XC team, but get beat at nationals? Your team is clearly the best. Go ahead give them 1st place?
What if the top ranked team in the NCAA hoops tournament gets beat in the sweet-16? Give 'em the trophy?
Competition.

This.
What happens in basketball if a #1 seed gets knocked out befor the final 4? They go home and watch a lower ranked team move on. People love sports because they are unpredicdable.
I was thinking the same thing...I really hope German can bounce back from whatever he's dealing with right now
I believe German's condition is called "brain sprain". Dude is another Webb, tough when he's beating people slower, but unable to cope psychologically when the national and world-class runners pass him by.
He's finished. He had a good run as a HS champ, but college is a different ball-game, and don't even get me started on national & international competition.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
