Big fail on your logic
relative performance wise American male distance runners far out perform their female counterparts - the problem is that womens middle distance is so completely devoid of depth compared to the men that even though the American men produce better performances, they are (for the most part) non-factorial in a world sense because mens track is just so much harder to compete in than womans.
