Wow. I read this thread today and thought this post sounded familiar, only to realize that I wrote it 7 years ago. Maybe it is worth noting that I was struggling with disordered eating and bulimia at the time and though my eating and body image is generally healthy nowadays, recently since I've been marathon training and losing weight I've noticed that the weight loss is bringing back some disordered patterns/thinking. It will be mentally difficult when I'm done with this race and inevitably gain a few lbs back. I know it's far more important to focus on what your body can do vs. what it looks like, but it is so hard... For female runners and for everyone. Hope OP from back in the day is healthy and well.
