Your post doesn't give enough credit to the awesome and gutsy move made by Bedan Karoki. And if your going to take shots at the Americans in the field for not going after him you better take aim at the rest of the runners too. There were only three Americans in the top 15 of that race, and two of them led the too-late charge over the final K. There were four other Kenyans in the race. What about their cajones? Karoki just raced everybody's balls off.
