Surprised no one has mentioned Iona's Korir yet. He ran 13:25--GOING AWAY, who knows how fast he could have run if pressed-- and is probably much fitter a month or so later.
Don't be surprised if he runs under 28 minutes....WELL under.

I think its going to be great as usual. With super fast times and crazy PR's!!
I hope Jessica Pixler is not injured she was suppose to run at MT Sac but didn't and is not running tonight while a bunch of CU runners are in.
jordan hasay goes under 4:10 at 1500 tonight.
Personally I think Tahri is slightly overrated for being considered a contender here. I would say dipping sub 27:50 would be a success for him. 8:01 steeple does not necessarily translate into a good 10k (meaning around 27:20), especially since he hurdles extremely well, much better and fluently than the kenyans, and approaches the steeple from the 1500.
But we shall see - good luck to him and I hope he does well.
why would people go for the A standard and not the American record for the 10,000? Where else would there be another record attempt?
Two obvious reasons.
Most people know they can't do it, and would run the risk of blowing up so bad that they miss the A standard.
The few who might be able to do it (which might just be Solinsky) don't want to hammer themselves so hard that they need significant recovery.

I am pretty certain, actually 100% certain I will not go sub 31:20 tonight. But hey thanks for the confidence you have in me.
Just talking about Huddle and a possible move up on the list shows a lot of respect
Pretty sweet company ahead of Ms H on the ATlist.

Only Vivian Cheruiyot has bested 31:30 this year.
Granted only 2 races, Pantevedra and Kobe, had solid fields
Bobby Curtis is my dark horse pick, 27:22 for second behind Karaoke.
Is the seeded section of the 10,000 first or will they close the meet with it?
Last makes it after one AM Eastern

To get the A standard, True will need to PR at 5000 twice. Not saying it can't be done, but I prefer to bet on Nelson for darkhorse status.
This is not the same Ben True. He is in shape to PR in the 5000 twice, and then kick hard.

As expected, Karoki for the win. 26 min is his whenever he wants it.
More credit for Karoki, please. All these other chumps were also-rans. Karoki jogged 6800 m looking around at the hotties in the bleachers and then got down to business while all the other nambies jockeyed for 10+ sec behind. WC gold medalist in the works.
So, wejo, do Shalane's times now show that it was OK for her to change coaches?

Credit to Karoki, sure. He definitely made it look like he was racing some JV team out there. His move to leave everyone behind looked like something out of a comic book.
Still, WC gold medalist? Maybe, but it seems like there are 20 guys from Kenya and Ethiopia who could do the same thing. At least too many for me to keep track of.
Well there is always this wrote:

you can say that again
I bet jimmy the greek would say "where do these little monkeys come from? do they grow them on trees over there?"
and then he'd get fired
