To be honest, aside from knowing a kid who trains with Andrews, I know nothing about him. I'll admit that right off the bat. But it never ceases to amaze me how just about any topic on these boards invariably leads to an argument. I'm not attacking anyone, I just honestly find it interesting. As for his time? Come on, the guy ran 3:40 after not that much racing. Can't we just say, "Hey Andrews ran a 3:40 1500...very solid time, let's see where he goes from here"? That's not to say I don't find the debates on here interesting. I love discussing running on these boards, and people with opposing views are what make it interesting. The people on here, are some of the most well informed running enthusiasts you're going to come across. But this is a pretty black and white topic, is it not? He ran 3:40 after only a few races, and that's kinda that. I personally find this race impressive. If there's something I'm missing, and someone wants to call me out on it, then I'd love to discuss that, but for now, for this one topic, can we all just....get along? (Yes I realize we cannot all just get along but it's worth a shot)
