I don't see Meb. Has he already lost contact with the lead pack?

Is Chirlee that Kenyan (by birth) guy who served in the US military?

Hall has no choice. He must run from the front because his sponsors need the fans to see a white guy up front,
WROOOONNNNG. His sponsors would rather see him WIN, no matter HOW he does it. Life isnt that complicated, there is no grand conspiracy re: Hall.
Oh, if anyone is wondering, Cragg was 11 seconds off the lead pack at 15k.
if you haven't seen this -- it isn't a bad way to follow the action from work:
Through the halfway point for the women, 13 were under course record pace and the men had 14 under WORLD record pace at 15k

No point-to-point courses is how it's been solved. ie No Boston.
The start and the finish have to be within 1/3 of race distance of one another, so you'll see some "horsehoe"-shaped courses that qualify e.g. twin cities
But they DO count it for qualifying times regarding london 2012, don't they?

No, this is a dangerous move for the rest of the field. Let Kim go out alone with a big tailwind and her chances of winning skyrocket. Someone needs to bite the bullet, bridge the gap and take the wind out of her sails (literally).
I think this guy called it right. The others seemed to have given up any real attempt to catch up.
Kim Smith 1:24:13 through 25K, still holding a HUGE 47 second lead on the field
No, I don't think so. They count for US qualifying times, but I think that is it.
USATF's list of certified courses notes this: http://goo.gl/mRrrK
If Boston is not eligible for WR is it eligible for qualifying standards for OT or Olympics for non residents?
Smith is falling apart. Looks like crap.

Cragg has to be scared shitless to be in his first race of this distance and be on world record pace through 10 miles. Hopefully he's not wearing a watch or checking the clock because that can do some crazy things mentally to know youre in this deep.
True, true. It can be hard to fall back, but unless he expects a 2:05 he could still benefit from backing off of the back, even 10 miles in what he does from 10-20 can make a huge difference to 20-26.2.
the announcers really suck this year
this broad is out of control
isn't she going to be an american citizen before 2012?
Hall working the crowd as the runners head through Wellesley. Yes my son, run free!

A point-to-point course can have records based on the wind (I don't know the allowable wind). Boston has that but can never have a record because of its elevation drop. New York can.
Why are you even writing this? You are wrong.
Wind measurement never, ever, enters into allowing or not allowing distance road times.
Moron.
