looks like Hall went through 15k at 47:0x (unofficial)
make that 43:45, heh.
who cares about the time, if an american an win in 2:12 I'd be happy.
The great Hall shall lead us to the promise land.
There are going to be so many PRs from the men's race today
Cragg has to be scared shitless to be in his first race of this distance and be on world record pace through 10 miles. Hopefully he's not wearing a watch or checking the clock because that can do some crazy things mentally to know youre in this deep.
A point-to-point course can have records based on the wind (I don't know the allowable wind). Boston has that but can never have a record because of its elevation drop. New York can.
Course record for the womens wheelchair!

This. Thanks for the update!
Hearing from a friend at the race that he believes Russell is out now. Can anyone confirm?
Heartbreak Hill might be Literal at this pace!!!
man oh man.....what are we watching??????????
Japanese win the mens and womens wheelchair races. There must be something in the water.
Hall has no choice. He must run from the front because his sponsors need the fans to see a white guy up front, if only for a little while. He knows he's not going to win, but this is what he gets paid for - to sell stuff. That's why he's out there and not Meb. After he explodes in a few miles, 'fans' will still be talking about how he took it to the Africans. When Chelanga does this in a few years, fans will say he's stupid, and talk about how he got outkicked by Rupp in XC using the same tactic.
how far back is the men's pack?

Didn't know that. Thanks for clarifying!
Pack is with Hall. 11 people in it? Hall sitting in about 3-4th of it, but that is changing constantly.

Not sure if this has been addressed before, but is there some kind of legal wind parameters for a marathon? I can understand it being hard to figure out with turns and all.
No point-to-point courses is how it's been solved. ie No Boston.
The start and the finish have to be within 1/3 of race distance of one another, so you'll see some "horsehoe"-shaped courses that qualify e.g. twin cities

Somone's gonna run a world record today gentleman.
No, they won't. Someone may run under 2:03:59, though!
Cheruiyot jumps back into men's lead, slows down the pace to ~4:50/mile.
