Close, but I think we all know the best part of Letsrun is related to dumping in compression socks because of their price.
Somone's gonna run a world record today gentleman.

Boston is not WR eligible, correct?
Correct. Too much downhill, start and finish too far apart.
Davila dropped back about 12 seconds at the 15k point and has brought it back nicely to lead the chase pack...way to tough it out and stick your nose in it!
Except it wouldn't count for record purposes.

This is running off the front. The way it was supposed to be done. Smith has guts.

The track said smith halfway 1:10:52. I thought watching it it was 1:10:38 but the mat may be in a slightly different place. We can still see how much of a lead she has.
Not sure if this has been addressed before, but is there some kind of legal wind parameters for a marathon? I can understand it being hard to figure out with turns and all.
kim's got like a 50 sec lead; they haven't shown the pack but mention that they have a group of about 12 moving as fast as her.
hall's move dropped some guys off the back, but the main pack covered.
at halfway point the pack at 1:11:42 with Goucher, Kiplagat, and Davila
1:11:42 half mark for Goucher.
wow two american sports casters on espn busting on Ryan hall for about a minute about leading if u dont end up winning, gotta love that when these two guys cant even say anything constructive about an american leading.
looks like Hall went through 15k at 47:0x (unofficial)
43:45 15k for Hall, 4:42 mile pace. 2:03:08 marathon pace.
Hall 43:45 through 15k after a 14:38 last 5k, on 2:03:03 pace!
Go Ryan Hall!

Correct, they can go faster than WR pace and get a World Best. It still looks good on the stat sheet, but you can see how the wind makes a course potentially 'aided'.
Back 30 years ago they had a marathon at Lake Pontchartrain across the 24-mile flat bridge. They decided the direction a day or before the race when the wind direction was known.
Nice to see the great white hope back in the lead. One white guy with a group of black guys all in pursuit.

Am I crazy, or is Hall taking a LOT of holy water?
