Given the tailwind, the safety of the pack is not what it normally is. (i.e., almost no advantage of being in the pack and has the disadvantage of not seeing the road as well.)

Already? Oh Noooooooo...
Hall will blow up, this happens every year! Even if he doesn't blow up, it's so obvious that 1 of the 8 guys sitting on him is going to have a little more. Why hasn't he learned to be patient in a two hour race?
For those with video: where is Geb Geb??
I think T.Revis is wrong; I think 2:02 is possible today!!

Kim Smith increases her lead to :53 off the main pack which still includes Goucher, Kiplagat. Erkesso falls 3:00 behind
1:07:11 20k for Smith, 1:08:01 for Goucher.
Best part of Letsrun is a thread like this
Kim Smith hits halfway in 1:10:42
Kim Smith 1:10:39 halfway
I've never been 100% behind Hall in how he races, but I've always been a supporter of him as an athlete and one of our best. That said, while it's tough to see him go out and play these "games" again, I think this may be the day to risk it.
If he pulls it off, or even slightly, he should be sub-2:08. I say that's a 30% chance. 40% chance he fizzles and runs 2:08-2:11 again. 30% Chance he runs above 2:11 or DNF.
I'm rooting for him and I hope his gamble pays off!!
this feaking crazy! ...My nerves and heart cant take much MORE!
Boston is not WR eligible, correct?
Ryan Hall on 2:03 world record pace
