Even though I think he's a tool, that's a hell of a run. Nice to see an American in the top three.

Hall was 4th, not 3rd.
Can someone please shatter the heads of all the idiots posting all caps OMG THE WR WAS SHATTERED!!! OMG AR FOR RYAN HALL!!!
It won't count as a world record because Boston would never count for a world record. It is an ineligible course.

I just heard the records won't be official because of the tailwind? Won't count as a WR? Anybody know anything about this?
Overall downhill course
Start and finish lines are > 0.33 miles apart
How strong was the tail wind?
Hall 4th

as said before, Boston is not a WR course because of the elevation drop and the distance between start and finish. not because of the wind.
Won't count as a WR b/c the course is downhill. Is that an AR for Hall/will it count as an AR?
Boston is point to point and thus record ineligible.
What a ridiculous race!!!

Ridiculously strong tailwind:
"From W at 18mph gusting to 28mph"
Could someone please clarify the WR issue? Is it or is it not a WR? I am frantically searching the thread for this info, but I'm coming up empty-handed!!

Won't count as a WR.
How do people not understand this? Boston is a net downhill, point to point course. Most of the time that isn't a big deal, because it's usually as difficult or more difficult than courses like London or Berlin. But when you have a cool day with a massive tailwind, you can go really fast.
Even if they had run 2:02 with a HEADwind, it still wouldn't be a world record, American record, whatever. The course is not eligible for records, both because of the net downhill and because the start line is too far away from the finish line.
no world record as it is a Point to Point course
