LA has many seriously weird people -- it has vastly more normal people, although their history has been different than yours. Also MtSAC is way east of LA and going to MtSAC is not quite like 'going to LA'.

Saugus as usual! The last time they lost anything team-related at Mt. Sac was in 2006 I think. I'm predicting these times: Bulder 4:56, Mahoney 4:59, Hampton 5:02, fourth runner 5:05, combining for a winning time of 20:02, taking back their California record.
Hampton ran 5:08.06 and Bulder ran 2:18.84 in a dual meet yesterday.
German said right after his race in Texas his next meet will "probably" be Big-12. However, if I were his coach and he just ran a 4:17 in a 4:13 race with his shoe flopping around, then I'd probably want him in another race soon.
Texas did not turn out to be what his coach was probably hoping for. They can't even use it as a workout.
Nonsense. GF was actually a factor in that race pushing into the lead only to be swallowed up by the tight pack when things went wrong. I am not sure when he had the shoe problem but if it corresponds to when he got pinched off the front then I would not worry.

Again, that was one of the most retarded races that I have ever seen!!!! It looked like some kind of Vogue magazine spread at the end."Oh, look at me in lane 8 powering down the straight, don't I look cool!" So, after purposely going to the back at the start of the race to avoid others, he then twice goes to the front and then,.....slows down, so he would'nt be foced into taking the lead!?!?1?. He so easily went around everybody else, you could tell he had way, way, way more in the tank - but that wasn't the old "Smithie Plan" though was it? "Just get yourself tucked in there and cozy in the middle of the stupid pack" - a pack that was running at a retard slow pace in the first place!!! A 2:20 split at the half - what in the hell!!!! Pregnant garden snails move faster!!! At that point, he should have said to himself, "Enough of this $hit, I'm outta here" and dropped a sub 30sec 200 and stretched out the mother F!*ckers! But NOOOOO! Instead, he waits around and it becomes a stupid retard mob sprint in the end! Leo had already blown his wad in the 800 from the day before, so he didn't care. You could see it in his face and stride! And his shoes, his f!*king retarded shoes AGAIN!!!! How many times is this going to happen???
So...... what's German gonna do? Try that again? Or is he going to wake the f!*ck up and listen to his legs and punch this thing like everybody knows he can!!!!!
Yea, there are plenty of guys out there that can and will probably out kick him at the end, but if he runs HIS kind of race - going at it HARD from the start, only three or four of them are going to be able to hang in there with him and if he's in the right spot with 150 to go, he could beat at least two of the four. But..... unless he decides before hand that he's not going to pussy around with this thing and stupid pack strategies and just take frick'in control, he's gonna look pretty damn silly out there!
Any update if Fernandez is running?
He's still listed...
I never said GF was not a factor, or ran horribly. However, I'm sure his coach wanted him to get a good, solid race in. Given the field you would think it would've been a low or sub 4:00 minute race.
Coach and GF seem to think he is in pretty good shape, so I'm sure they were both hoping for something solid time wise. Unfortunately, the weather and just the dynamics of the race turned it into the ultimate sit and kick race.
It was good racing experience, but not much more. Again, if I were his coach. I'd rather see him have a qualifying time before Big-12, and I'd want to see him have a few solid racing efforts which would push his body some before the end of the year.
So I'd race again.
As for the shoe, we know it happened before 200 meters at the very least. Photos show him in the number 2 position which the heel not secure. He was in that position in the race from about 270-200m remaining.
German should be up next if he's racing.

I will grant you this; well-made point (not deputing the rest either, just emphasizing this part the most).
